Walsh Construction, the Village's contractor, will begin by installing construction fencing and removing light standards, utility work will commence on the site shortly thereafter. The lot will be unavailable until completion which is anticipated early 2017.
Available Parking Options
We understand patrons and employees of the downtown may need to find new parking options during this time. To assist, Customer Parking Maps and Employee Parking Maps have been posted on the project website, www.Libertyville.com/ChurchStreetParking
. Hard copies of these maps can be requested by calling 847-918-2028. Parking in lesser utilized areas is encouraged, including:
- the eastern portion of the Newberry Ave lot
- the lower level of the Lake Street Parking Structure (employees only during day, available to customers after 5pm), and
- the downtown Metra lot which becomes available to customers after 5pm and on weekends (paying commuters only during day).
New Employee Parking at East End of Cook Apartments
Effective until January 15th, employees of downtown businesses will find a new parking option at the east end of the Cook Apartments lot, during the hours of 8am-6pm Monday-Friday, note employee permit hangtag must be displayed. 23-spaces in east end of the lot located on the east side of the apartment building have been leased by the Village for this purpose (southwest corner of Cook Ave & First St).
Customer Parking at Chase/BMO Harris Non-Banking Hours
Throughout construction months and during non-banking
hours (evenings and Sunday), Chase Bank and BMO Harris Bank will permit customer parking (not for employee use).
Church Street Drop-Off/Pick-Up Area
Beginning tomorrow, the south side of Church Street from the Civic Center to St. Lawrence Church will be designated drop-off/pick-up only for the duration of the project to assist patrons of the Civic Center, Church, Montessori School, and business patrons requiring close drop-off.
Unless an employer/landlord provides private parking for employees, employees of the downtown must park in designated employee parking areas with a employee hangtag displayed. Hangtags can be purchased at the Libertyville Police Department, for information call (847) 362-8310.
Your patience during construction is appreciated. Please know that at the end of construction a new source of parking will be available.
