Construction of the new 317-space parking garage is well underway and related utility work has commenced. The Village's contractor, Walsh Construction, is in the process of relocating storm sewers. Tuesday, June 21st Church Street will be closed from the Weppler Law Office driveway west to the Library parking lot entrance for the sanitary sewer service connection work for the new parking garage. This schedule is dependent upon favorable (dry) weather conditions.

Customers First: The Village's Customer First parking policy is designed to protect and ensure the success of our downtown businesses. Businesses are asked to please help educate employees where they can park. The Employee Parking Map is available on the project website. Parking in lesser utilized areas is encouraged, including:
- the east parking lot of Cook Apartments (southwest corner Cook Av & First St by posted signs) 8am-6pm Monday-Friday,
- the eastern portion of the Newberry Ave lot,
- the lower level of the Lake Street Parking Structure (employees only during day, available to customers after 5pm), and
- the downtown Metra lot which becomes available for free to employees/customers after 5pm and on weekends (only paying commuters during day).
If an employer/landlord does not provide private parking for employees, employees of the downtown must park in designated employee parking areas with a employee hangtag displayed. Hangtags can be purchased at the Libertyville Police Department, 200 E Cook Av (847-362-8310).
