New Dining Guide Available

The Spring 2017 version of the Libertyville Dining Guide was included in the latest Village Views newsletter.  This is a great guide to keep around your house and includes a comprehensive list of the local Libertyville restaurants. The guide is also available online and you can download the 2017 Libertyville Dining Guide here. Visiting our local businesses/restaurants supports local businesses and the community as a whole and makes Libertyville a great place to live, work and visit.

Fourth of July Fireworks

The Village's Fourth of July Fireworks show will be held on Tuesday, July 4th beginning at dusk (approximately 9:30 PM) in Butler Lake Park. The Village Band will perform at 7:30 PM so come early to hear some great music as you wait for the fireworks show to begin.  The Libertyville fireworks are supported by the Libertyville Mile of Cars, who make a significant donation to the fireworks show.  Please remember to shop local and support our local businesses that support our community as well.

Dog Days 2017

The 9th annual Dog Days of Summer will be held in Cook Park and Church Street beginning on Friday, July 7th and continuing through July 9, 2017. This is a great family event that even your four-legged friend can enjoy.  Come watch the dog jumping contest and even enter your dog into the amateur dog jump contest. The event also includes a gratitude ceremony, pet blessing, 3K Fun Walk, Sheriff K-9 Demo and over 30 vendors. Don't miss out on the fun! For a schedule please visit the facebook page dogdayslibertyville.

Monarch Butterflies

The Village Board recently updated the Village code to remove milkweed as a noxious plant.  Milkweed is essential to the life cycle of monarch butterflies.  A recent decline in the population of monarch butterflies across the United States has prompted local leaders to educate residents of the need for the milkweed plant.  The Village includes milkweed in its natural landscaped areas and encourages residents to include the perennial plant in gardens as well. The Sustain Libertyville Commission will also be continuing educational initiatives to support the monarch butterfly as part of this national effort.  For more information please visit the Mayor's Monarch Challenge website.

Village Flood Survey

In order to complete a comprehensive study for a Stormwater Master Plan, information is requested from residents regarding their experience with flooding on their property or in their neighborhood.  The feedback will help in the development of the plan so please complete the survey to assist with this important process.  The survey is a fillable form online or a paper copy can be requested by calling 847-918-2100.  Thank you in advance for your assistance.
