Stormwater Master Plan Review Scheduled for April 9

As has previously been communicated the Village has been developing a Village-Wide Master Stormwater Management Plan (MSWMP) to address property and structure flooding within the community.  The MSWMP has been developed to identify potential flooding locations in the Village.  The plan details proposed flood reduction projects for each location.  The plan includes feedback received from public involvement during the September 2017 open house to discuss flooding, the flood questionnaire responses that were received after the July 2017 storm event and a review of information from staff and residents which include videos and pictures of flooding events that have occurred.  It is available for viewing at

The Village Board will review the final plan at the April 9, 2019 Village Board meeting which is located at 118 West Cook Avenue at 8:00 p.m.  The plan is anticipated to be adopted by the Board at the following meeting on April 23, 2019.

The Village is currently in the process of evaluating a stormwater utility user fee to fund the proposed flood reduction projects and complete the necessary maintenance of the Village's stormwater management system.  The Village Board will continue to discuss the fee at an upcoming Village Board meeting. For questions related to the MSWMP please contact the Engineering Department at 847-918-2100.
