1. Is there an “all clear” sounded after the tornado sirens are activated?

No. In Libertyville and the surrounding Fire Protection District, we do not sound an all clear after the tornado sirens are sounded. It is important that you stay abreast of weather conditions by listening to the radio or television to determine when warnings have expired for our area. Additionally, please do not call 911 to ask if a warning is over. Calling 911 when you do not have an emergency can overload the lines and put real emergencies on hold.

2. How can I obtain a copy of a fire or ambulance report?

Fire Incident Report: Requestor may come to the Libertyville Fire Dept. Station No. 1 during business hours OR a written request may be sent to 1551 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville, Illinois 60048 with the following information: date of incident occurred; incident number (if known); location of incident occurred; name of occupant; and your reason for request of copy of incident. Note: There is a copying fee of $2 /page.

Fire Investigation Report: A fire investigation report will be released only to those individuals who fall into one of the following categories: Occupant/Owner, Insurance Company or Attorney. Requestor may come to the Libertyville Fire Dept. Station No. 1 during business hours OR a written request may be sent to 1551 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville, Illinois 60048 with the following information: date of incident occurred; incident number (if known); location of incident occurred; name of occupant; and your reason for request of copy of incident Note: There is a copying fee of $2 p/page.

Fire Ambulance Report: The patient or legal guardian for the patient must come to the Libertyville Fire Dept. Station No. 1 and show an ID picture and complete a HIPAA Patient Request for Access form during business hours OR patient’s attorney may submit a subpoena. 3. What type of community activities does the fire department offer the residents of Libertyville?

Apart from providing fire, medical and rescue emergency responses, the Libertyville Fire Department also provides station tours, child safety seat inspections, fire safety talks (children & adults), fire extinguisher classes, home safety inspections, fire drills – we can assist you in organizing and conducting an orderly evacuation, block parties and much more!
