Stay at Home Order and Masks in Public

Governor Pritzker has announced an extension of the Stay at Home Order through May 30th. It is critical that everyone follows this order to do their part to help avoid spreading the virus. As a reminder, all playgrounds are closed per the Governor’s order. Parks and trails remain open, but social distancing must be followed if they are used. Please remember to  move to the side when someone is passing. This means that large groups should not congregate on basketball and tennis courts, around lakes and in ball fields.

The Governor’s Order also mandates that beginning May 1st individuals will be required to wear a face covering or a mask when in a public place where they can’t maintain a six-foot social distance. Face coverings will be required in public indoor spaces, such as stores. The new requirement applies to all individuals over the age of two who are medically able to tolerate a face covering or mask. Vehicle Sticker Extension and Water Bill Late Fee Reminder

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Village has extended the purchase deadline of annual vehicle stickers from May 1, 2020 to July 1, 2020. Residents do not need to purchase or display the 2020-2021 vehicle sticker until July 1, 2020. Vehicle sticker purchases can be made via mail (recommended-drop in the green mailbox in front of Village Hall) or walk-up to the Police Department Records Division at 200 E. Cook Avenue. As the Village’s Finance Department is operating on a reduced in office schedule, please allow between two to three weeks for mailed vehicle sticker orders to be fulfilled.

The Village is also waiving water utility bill late fees through July 1, 2020. Accounts past due will still receive reminder statements, but no penalties will be added. The Village encourages any resident or business that requires a payment plan to contact the Water Billing Division at waterbill@libertyville.com (preferred) or (847) 918-2007. In your request, please include a description of your circumstances, the nature of the payment plan you are requesting, your account number, and your contact information.

Groot Collection and COVID-19

Due to COVID-19 all trash/refuse and recycling must be placed in a Groot company designated cart, a can with handles, or bagged. Loose uncontained items will NOT be collected. This includes bulk items, white goods (appliances), and e-waste. This is a temporary measure in order to protect the safety of Groot employees and the general public. To learn more click here.

Helping Heroes Go Fund Me Campaign

Looking to make a difference, even in a small way?
The Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills (GLMV) Chamber of Commerce has launched a “GLMV Helping Healthcare Heroes” campaign to help feed local healthcare  heroes as they respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. During these challenging times, frontline workers need our support and local restaurants need our patronage.

The GLMV community wants to do what we can to assist.

Funds collected via a GoFund Me site will provide local medical professionals with individually packed meals from various GLMV member restaurants.
Approximately 30-50 meals at a time will be purchased and delivered to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

The campaign may expand to other front-line medical teams. The meals will be delivered to a safe location for healthcare workers to enjoy during their shifts.
The generous support of our healthcare warriors is truly appreciated. Donate here or contact the GLMV Chamber of Commerce at clevin@glmvchamber.org  or 847-680-0750.
