Sports Complex to Reopen Under Lease Agreement

On April 27, 2021, the Libertyville Village Board approved a two-year lease agreement with Canlan Ice Sports Corp. under the "Canlan Sports" brand name to operate the Village's Indoor Sports Complex Facility which has been closed since March 13, 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Canlan intends to reopen the Indoor Sports Complex on July 1, 2021, with a ramp up to full programming by the fall. The lease agreement grants the option for Canlan to purchase the complex at a later date. Click here to learn more and view the full press release.

LCHD Vaccine Walk-ins Beginning May 1

Starting Saturday, May 1, 2021, the Lake County Fairgrounds will offer walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons. Appointments are encouraged, but afternoon walk-ins are welcome.

Walk-in hours at the Lake County Fairgrounds are as follows:

Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays: Noon to 3 p.m.
Wednesdays: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Anyone ages 16 and older who lives in the State of Illinois or works in Lake County can get a free COVID-19 vaccine at a Lake County Health Department site. Minors ages 16-17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to receive their vaccine. The Lake County Health Department provides COVID-19 vaccines at no cost and does not bill health insurance. You do not need to be a U.S. citizen to get vaccinated.
