Save the Date: Dog Days of Summer

SAVE THE DATE! The 13th Annual Dog Days of Summer will take place July 8th-10th. Dock Dogs Canine Aquatic Competition will return for all dogs, amateur to pro! Local rescues will also be on-site with some of their furry residents looking for a new home.

This event is presented by the Village of Libertyville and the Knights of Columbus Council 3674 Libertyville. All proceeds go to local pet rescues and food pantries.

Business Spotlight: 847 Running Company

As Asian American and Pacific Islander Month has come to a close, the Village is proud to recognize several local businesses owned by Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

847 Running Company opened February 2020 in downtown Libertyville. They provide running/walking analysis, curated footwear to complement your body mechanics, and active lifestyle apparel and accessories. The husband-wife team, Kai (Japanese-White) and Nicole (Filipino-White) are proud to bring Asian/Pacific American diversity to the run specialty business. Join 847 Running Company for group runs at 6 pm every Tuesday, 847 Kids Running Camps, and 847 Porch Sessions in the summer. All bodies welcome! Summer is HERE! Stay active this season with dance classes from Libertyville Recreation. From ballroom to hip hop, there's a style for every age group!

Celebrate First Friday with MainStreet Libertyville from 6 pm to 9 pm on June 3rd! Shop, dine, and play in downtown Libertyville and enjoy special refreshments and promotions at local shops and restaurants.

The Libertyville Police Department is currently accepting applications for entry-level police officers. Applications must be submitted online by 4 pm on Thursday, June 30th. Faxed, emailed, mailed, or dropped off applications will not be accepted.

Salary range is $69,875 to $108,482 with a benefits package that includes paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave, health insurance, pension enrollment, and tuition reimbursement. For requirements and to apply, click here.

Read Your Way Through Summer with Cook Memorial Library

"Read. Do. Explore." this summer with Cook Memorial Library! Join the library to celebrate the kick-off of its summer reading program from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday, June 4th. Drop in at 413 N. Milwaukee Ave. for door prizes, treats, and crafts!

Senior Center Trip to Lake Geneva

Join the Libertyville Senior Center on Tuesday, August 16th for a special summer trip to Lake Geneva! Take a boat tour of the lake, enjoy lunch from the famous Popeye's on the Lake, and peruse Black Pointe Estate. Bus leaves from the Libertyville Civic Center, 135 W. Church St., at 9:15 am and returns around 4:15 pm. $75 covers transportation and activities.

In a partnership between SWALCO (Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, IL) and University of Illinois Extension, University of Illinois Master Gardeners are hosting a series of educational gardening sessions.
