Call for Artists - Apply for Libertyville's "Art in the Park"

The Libertyville Arts Commission is accepting applications for a new special event! Art in the Park will offer local artists an opportunity to share art with the community from 3 pm to 5 pm on Saturday, September 10th in Cook Park.

A stipend of $100/artists or group will be provided. Possible art offerings may include a drum circle, small performance troupe, henna artist, small band, balloon artist, etc. Applications are due no later than 4 pm on August 2nd. For details and to find an application, click here.

Have you met the Libertyville Foundation? Established in 2005, the Foundation promotes tax-deductible giving to support programs or services of the Village of Libertyville. The Foundation's Board of Directors is currently revising its guiding principles. These will drive the mission and goals of the Foundation in the years to come - and they want to hear from you!

Village Construction Notices

The following construction projects are either in progress or scheduled for the coming week:

  • Rockland Road Sewer Lining Detour - Ends Thursday, July 21st
  • Charles Brown and Metra Parking Lot Resurfacing - Begins Monday, July 18th

Highlands Subdivision Flood Reduction Project

Construction of Phase 1 of the Highlands Subdivision Flood Reduction Project will begin in the coming weeks. This important project was outlined in the Village's Master Stormwater Management Plan.

MainStreet Libertyville's Sidewalk Sales

Head to downtown Libertyville and shop the annual Sidewalk Sales during regular business hours on July 15th and 16th! Spend the day shopping and relax with lunch or dinner, a sweet treat, or a refreshing drink at area restaurants.

Having trouble getting applicants at your small business? Check out the IL SBDC International Trade Center at College of Lake County's free Attraction and Retention Series! Running from August 18th to September 29th, the series will explore what workers are looking for and how small businesses can be competitive beyond wages.

SWALCO'S Recycle-O-Rama Returns

Join SWALCO, State Senator Melinda Bush, and the Village of Hainesville for Recycle-O-Rama! From 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, July 23rd, bring your items for collection right from your car at the Hainesville Village Hall.

Support the Festival of the Arts as a Volunteer!

The Adler Arts Center and the GLMV Chamber of Commerce are looking for volunteers for the annual Festival of the Arts! Volunteers are needed for the following shifts:

  • Friday, August 5th: Setup
  • Saturday, August 6th - Beer garden and tickets/wristbands
  • Sunday, August 7th - Beer garden and tickets/wristbands
  • Monday, August 8th - Teardown
