Mayor's Recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month

At the September 13th Village Board meeting, Mayor Johnson issued an official proclamation recognizing September 15th through October 15th, 2022 as Hispanic Heritage Month.

Residents Invited to Take Recreation Survey

Residents are invited to share their input with Libertyville Recreation about which programs and events they'd like to see! The department appreciates any and all community feedback as it plans its next year of programming.

Businesses Wanted for Trunk or Treat

The Libertyville Recreation Department invites your business to participate in its new Trunk or Treat event! From 10 am to 11:30 am on Saturday, October 29th, decorate your personal or business vehicle and wear your best costume to hand out candy to kids and adults!

Only 15 vendor spots are still available. Cost to participate is $50; registration ends on October 7th. To register, click here. Questions? Call Libertyville Recreation at 847-918-7275.

PROST! Dust off your lederhosen for MainStreet Libertyville's Oktoberfest today, Friday, September 23rd and tomorrow, Saturday, September 24th. Listen to live music with a stein of bier, compete in a best dressed contest, and cheers with your neighbors!

IDOT Overnight Work

As part of Illinois Department of Transportation's improvement project on Milwaukee Avenue, residents should be aware of overnight resurfacing work between Church St. and Adler Park beginning Monday, September 26th. The work will occur between 7 pm and 5 am through Friday, September 30th, weather permitting.

The overnight work will decrease the need for construction during peak traffic hours. For more information about the IDOT project, click here.

Need a new car seat installed? Not sure if yours is buckled in? Stop by the Libertyville Fire Department's Car Seat Checkpoint at Adler Park, 1500 N. Milwaukee, from 9 am to noon on Saturday, September 24th.

Senior Center Historic Pullman Trip

Join the Senior Center on a trip to the historic Pullman District on Thursday, October 20th! This active, vibrant Chicago neighborhood embodies the continuing American story of the city. The Historic Pullman Foundation will lead participants on a walking tour of the neighborhood.

Bus leaves at 9:30 a.m. $50 ticket includes transportation, walking tour, museum, and lunch. To register, contact Jennifer West at civiccenterlib@sbcglobal.net or 847-247-7659. Please note that payment must be made prior to registration confirmation.

U of I Extension Fall Compost Giveaway

BYOB (Bring Your Own Bucket) for free compost from SWALCO, U of I Extension, and the Master Gardeners of Lake County on Friday, September 30th! Lake County residents may collect up to 10 gallons of compost per household from 11 am to 3 pm at University of Illinois Extension at the College of Lake County, 100 US 45 in Grayslake.
