Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month: Business Spotlight

At the April 25th Village Board meeting, Mayor Johnson declared May 2023 as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in Libertyville. As part of the month, we're excited to feature several Asian American and Pacific Islander-owned businesses in the Village.

Opened by Angela Xu in 2019, Dangela's Dumplings serves authentic, handmade dumplings from scratch using traditional Northern Chinese methods and a recipe passed down from Angela's mother. After moving to the US over 12 years ago for graduate school, Angela recognized a love of dumplings shared by both Americans and Chinese. Combining her name with her husband's, Dan, and with the support of her parents, Dangela's Dumplings has customized their equipment and recipes to make traditional dumplings the star of any meal!

May is National Bike Month

On May 9th, 2023, Mayor Donna Johnson signed a proclamation deeming May 2023 as National Bike Month in Libertyville! With Bike to Work Week taking place May 15th through 21st and Bike to Work Day on May 19th, the Commission and Village encourage all folks to try on a bike for size.
