Administrative offices will be closed on Labor Day.

Administrative Offices Closed for Labor Day

Village administrative offices will be closed in recognition of Labor Day on Monday, September 4th. Offices will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, September 5th. Emergency services will remain open.

Please note that all garbage pick-up will be delayed by one day.

2023 Community Bike Ride

Hit the trails at the 2023 Community Bike Ride! This family-friendly ride will begin at 9 am on Sunday, September 10th in Adler Park. Choose a 2.5-mile or 5-mile loop, visit with the Libertyville Police and Fire departments, and sample grilled snacks from Grillin with Dad!

MainStreet Libertyville's Twilight 5K

Join MainStreet Libertyville for its 16th annual Twilight Shuffle on Sunday, September 3rd! This professionally chip-timed race for ages 9 and up will take runners on a scenic course through downtown Libertyville. A half-mile race is also available for kids!

Garfield and Austin Ave. Closure

The Highlands Subdivision Flood Reduction Project is advancing into the final phase of storm sewer installations and will require an extended road closure at the intersection of Garfield Ave and Austin Ave. The closure and detour route are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 5th and are anticipated to remain in place for approximately one week, weather permitting.

Libertyville Historical Society Lakeside Cemetery Walking Tour

The Libertyville Historical Society and Lakeside Cemetery Association invite you to the Lakeside Cemetery Walking tour on Sunday, September 10th! Walks are scheduled at 2 pm, 2:20 pm, 2:40 pm, and 3 pm. Tickets are $5 for members and $10 for non-members.

2023 Garden Learning Series - Landscaping with Native Plants

Curious about native plants? Join University of Illinois Extension, SWALCO, and Lake County Forest Preserves to discover the benefits of designing native habitats like butterfly and rain gardens. The webinar will also discuss native plant selection and identification, habitat requirements, and maintenance.

From 5 pm to 11 pm in Mickey Finn's back lot, enjoy live music, a curated selection of seasonal brews, and traditional Bavarian bier sports like Hammerschlager and Masskrugstemmen. Explore five residences in Libertyville's Wineberry subdivision with MainStreet Libertyville! Beginning at 10 am on September 9th, the tour will include open concept design, energy efficiency, and outdoor living. Following the tour, indulge in a wine tasting at The Joyful Gourment from 1 pm to 5 pm.

State Representative McLaughlin's Prescription Drug Drop Off and Shred Event

Join State Representative Martin McLaughlin for a Prescription Drug Drop Off and Shred Event on Saturday, September 9th! From 9:30 am to 11:30 am, citizens are welcome to drop off solid prescription drugs (tablets and capsules), patches, and vaping devices and cartridges for proper disposal. Constituents are also welcome to bring up to two bankers boxes of paper per household for secured off-site shredding.

The drive-up drop-off will be held at Representative McLaughlin's office at 28662 W. Northwest Highway, Suite A, in Lake Barrington. For details, click here.

Government Programs and Policy for Small Businesses

Join the Illinois Small Business Development Center for a free webinar highlighting current government programs, policies, and legislation affecting small businesses. The session will include representatives from the Small Business Administration (SBA), Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Illinois Department of Revenue (ILDOR), and the Small Business Advocacy Council (SBAC).
