Winter Weather Update

Thank you to our Public Works Department who worked diligently to clear and salt roads and Police and Fire Department staff for keeping the community safe during the winter weather events and extreme temperatures that occurred over the last week. To learn more about our snow and ice operations please click here.

During the weather events over the last week power outages and garbage delays occurred within the community. The Village communicates with our contractual contacts for these services for updates during these events, as well as provides feedback regarding future situations. We will continue to share information as it is provided via our social media and website, if and when these situations arise. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Groot Garbage Service Update

During the recent snow events service delays were experienced with garbage and recycling pickup for Friday service routes. We understand that both garbage and recycling were left at the curb for longer than expected and apologize for the inconvenience this caused. Groot has informed the Village that the areas that did not receive a pickup last Friday, January 12th should be resolved as of today's pickup. Please contact Groot at 1-847-693-2700 for further questions.

Christmas Tree Pickup
Christmas Tree pickup will be offered through the Village's waste hauler, Groot through January 26th. Christmas trees must be placed at the curb. Trees may not be in bags and all decorations and lights must be removed.

Water Service Material Survey

Federal and State legislation requires that the Village complete a material inventory of all the water services in the distribution system as part of the initiative to eliminate lead services starting in 2027. In an effort to complete this inventory the Public Works Department is sending letters to certain residential properties to request assistance with the Village’s efforts to establish a Village-wide inventory of water service materials. These letters are only being sent to areas where additional information is required to confirm materials.

If you receive a letter, please follow the instructions included to assist with the Village’s efforts.  Contact information is provided within each letter should you have any questions about the process.
