The fun begins with a concert of patriotic music performed by the Village Band at 7:30 p.m. at the Butler Lake Band Shell. A spectacular fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. For safety reasons, Lake Street will close to pedestrians and vehicles traffic at 9:00 p.m. before the show. Parking will be available at Butler Lake Park (residents only), the main commuter lot, both parking garages, and Butterfield School.

Village Administrative Offices will be closed on Friday, July 4th in observation of the Independence Day holiday.

Dog Days of Summer

The 16th annual event will occur thanks to the cooperation of the Knights of Columbus. Libertyville is the site for the "Dock Dogs Regional Finals." You can watch as 100 nationally ranked jumping dogs run down a 40 foot dock and jump into a 27,000 gallon pool of water for longest distance in the middle of Church Street. In addition to the three-day non-stop dog jumping competition, doggie- oriented events and 30+ vendors will be in Cook Park throughout the weekend.

Head to Cook Park July 11th-13th.  Lear more here.

ADA

ADA Transition Plan Public Input

The Village of Libertyville, in partnership with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (“CMAP”) is working to develop an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Public Right-of-Way (PROW) Transition Plan. A PROW ADA Transition Plan is a document that outlines a strategy to identify and address accessibility barriers within a community’s public spaces like sidewalks, crosswalks and curb cuts. Village staff, along with consultants from Kimley Horn will be available at the MainStreet Farmers Market on Thursday, July 3rd to answer questions as well as offer opportunities to respond to a survey and use the online interactive map to place pins to show where you’ve experienced or seen barriers to accessibility.
