Adopt a Storm Drain Program

With the summer rains, please assist the Village with cleaning your storm drain to help minimize local flooding. The Village has launched an adopt a drain program. 

Adopt a Drain is a volunteer program in which residents can “adopt” one of the 3,000 storm drains in the community.  Adopters commit to cleaning the drain of debris to maintain a safe and clean environment. 

Clogged storm drains are one of the major causes of roadway flooding in the Village. These drains are a critical part of the overall storm water management system, and keeping the drains clean assists in preventing roadway flooding.  To learn more and to adopt a drain today click here.

ADA Transition Plan

The Village of Libertyville, in partnership with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (“CMAP”) is working to develop an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Public Right-of-Way (PROW) Transition Plan. A PROW ADA Transition Plan is a document that outlines a strategy to identify and address accessibility barriers within a community’s public spaces like sidewalks, crosswalks and curb cuts.
