Citizen's Academy
Village of Libertyville Citizen’s Public Safety Academy 
Fall 2026 Session
The upcoming Fall session will start September 16, 2026 and run through December 9, 2026, excluding November 25, 2026. Classes will be held Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at various Village Buildings. The session will have limited participants to help facilitate good discussions.
Registration is required. Once the online registration is completed, you will receive notice of your enrollment before the first class.
The Academy is FREE to attend!
Who Can Attend??
The Citizen’s Public Safety Academy is open to anyone who: 
- Is 18 years of age or older
- Lives in Libertyville
A background check is completed on all applicants. The Village of Libertyville reserves the right to deny enrollment for any reason.
Subjects Covered
Topics covered in the class include:
- Basic CPR/First Aid/Stop the Bleed certification
- Knowledge of firefighting operations and tactics
- Understanding of traffic stop procedures and policing scenarios
- Police Investigation knowledge and basic firearms safety
- Public works operations and equipment familiarization
- Awareness of fire, police, and public works service roles and risks
