Introduction
The Libertyville Fire Department takes pride in educating and preventing fires in the Village of Libertyville and the Libertyville Fire Protection District. The Fire Prevention Bureau's basic responsibilities include:
- Reviewing building plans for new construction
- Performing acceptance tests for new fire protection equipment
- Enforcing fire prevention codes via fire inspections
- Investigating Suspicious Losses & Accidental Fires
- Administering the Junior Fire Setter Program
- Public Education & Community Activities
