How to submit projects for review
The following attachments will be required for the submission to be accepted:
- Transmittal letter
- This letter must contain the email address(es) you want response sent to.
- Plans
- The plans must include a bar scale.
- The plans must contain optical character recognition (OCR)/be readable by a PDF reader.
- For projects conducted only in a specific suite(s) of a building, the suite(s) must be listed in the address area of the plans.
- Cut sheets
- For sprinkler projects: hydraulic calcs (unless it is a small project that does not require new calcs).
- If not required, it would be mandatory to note in the submission that they were intentionally omitted.
- For fire alarm projects: battery calcs (unless it is a small project that does not require new calcs).
- If not required, it would be mandatory to note in the submission that they were intentionally omitted.
We do not accept the following:
- Non-PDF documents, such as Word documents (e.g. .doc/.docx) or Excel documents (e.g. .xls/.xlsx). Both Word and Excel documents can be easily “Saved As” PDF documents in their respective programs.
- One compiled PDF file containing all the documents. We require the aforementioned documents to be individual attachments that are appropriately titled.
- Compressed ZIP folders containing the documents or online links to download the documents elsewhere. In addition to security purposes, fireplanreviews@libertyville.com has been modified to accept large file sizes, rendering ZIP folders or links to download files elsewhere unnecessary. Please let us know if you are still unable to provide all documents separately in your email.
While submissions are reviewed by our Director of Fire Prevention on a first come, first served basis, please complete the Fire Prevention Bureau’s Expedited Plan Review Application form and include it as part of your submission package if it is desired to have your project reviewed in an expedited manner. The inclusion of the Expedited Plan Review Application form assumes that all its terms and conditions have been acknowledged by the submitter.
