Parks

The Village of Libertyville maintains a vibrant park system that offers residents and visitors a wide range of recreational opportunities. With 19 parks spanning more than 500 acres, the system includes playgrounds, athletic fields, walking paths, open green space, and scenic natural areas for both active recreation and relaxation.

Many parks serve as neighborhood gathering places with amenities such as picnic shelters, fishing areas, tennis and basketball courts, and access to local trail systems. Community destinations like Adler Park, Butler Lake Park and Nicholas Dowden Park provide expanded opportunities for events, outdoor activities, and enjoying nature. Across the park system, more than 11,000 public trees help create beautiful, shaded spaces throughout the community.

The Village continues to invest in park improvements, updated playgrounds, and expanded recreational amenities to ensure Libertyville’s parks remain welcoming places for residents of all ages to connect, play, and enjoy the outdoors.
