Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB)

Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB)

The Libertyville Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) was created to plan, coordinate, and administer the installation, upgrading and maintenance of an Enhanced 9-1-1 telephone and communications system. Enhanced 9-1-1 became available in the Village in the fall of 1991. In fall of 2012, the Village consolidated its 9-1-1 and Communications Center with the Vernon Hills Police/Countryside Fire Consolidated Communications Center.

However, the Libertyville ETSB still exists in order to administer the 9-1-1 surcharge for the contintuing operation of the 9-1-1 system as well as the ancillary functions and equipment authorized by law.

The ETSB has 6 members by Ordinance: The Police & Fire Chiefs; the Deputy Chief of Police; an Assistant Fire Chief, the Police Administrative Services Manager (formerly the 9-1-1 supervisor); and a Village Trustee.

The ETSB will meet quarterly in 2016 unless otherwise posted. Meetings are held in the Police Department, located at 200 E. Cook Ave. starting at 9:00 a.m.

2016 ETSB Meeting Schedule:
