Stormwater Utility Fee Town Hall Meeting

The Village of Libertyville is considering implementing a stormwater utility fee to finance the capital improvements identified in the Master Stormwater Management Plan. Residents and business can learn more about the proposed fee by visiting the Village’s stormwater utility fee web page here. This web page includes fee background, a list of frequently asked questions, and a tool that allows customers to lookup their property’s estimated stormwater utility fee amount. If adopted by the Village Board, the fee would go into effect on September 1, 2021.

The Village held its first virtual town hall meeting on January 28. If you were unable to attend a second virtual town hall will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. The content of both meetings is the same. To view a recording of the first meeting click here.

The virtual meeting link is available at the link above and will also be shared on social media. In order to facilitate the virtual meeting participants are encouraged to submit questions or provide feedback in advance of the meeting by emailing stormwaterhelp@libertyville.com. Each town hall session will be recorded and uploaded for later viewing on the Village’s website.

winter weather

Winter Weather Reminders

Please remember that the Village begins plowing streets within our jurisdiction when snow is more than one inch deep and when freezing temperatures indicate there will be no melting. Many state and county roads in and around the Village are cleared by the respective agencies.

There are several ways you can help keep the Village safe during the winter. Please clear your sidewalk. Assist senior citizens who live nearby by shoveling their sidewalks and checking on them during the approaching cold spell. When clearing your driveway or blowing the snow onto the parkway please do so to the right side of your driveway as you face the street to reduce snow being put back into your driveway by the snow plows. Park vehicles off the street. On-street parking is prohibited between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. during snow events.

Please watch for snow & ice removal vehicles.  Be alert and vigilant of Village snowplows while driving or shoveling your sidewalk or driveway. Ensure your mailbox is 12 inches from the curb and the post is secure. Adopt a fire hydrant and keep it clear of snow.  It is there to protect you.
