Introduction

The Libertyville Fire Department takes pride in educating and preventing fires in the Village of Libertyville and the Libertyville Fire Protection District. Led by Lieutenant Michael Weaver, the Fire Prevention Bureau's basic responsibilities include:

• Reviewing building plans for new construction
• Performing acceptance tests for new fire protection equipment
• Enforcing fire prevention codes via fire inspections
• Investigating Suspicious Losses & Accidental Fires
• Administering the Junior Fire Setter Program
• Public Education & Community Activities
